Brisbane Kids Portrait Photographer | My name is Victor….

Vic | Children Portraits | Annerley | 18th February 2012

On Saturday morning, Vic & his grandparents came to visit me in my new studio in Annerley. It was nice to show them what I had been working on. The studio is almost ready – just waiting for the air con and the signage to go up this week. Then I will be able to share the photos with you! Vic is Andy’s nephew and it has been way too long since I last photographed this gorgeous little munchkin, so we had a bit of playtime in the studio and captured some these gorgeous photos. My favourite is the very last black and white one.. Oh so innocent… Enjoy!

Ipswich Wedding Photography | A Real Life Wedding.. Lauren & Philip…

Lauren & Philip | Wedding | Ipswich | 5th November 2012

Last November, I had the pleasure of photographing the gorgeous Lauren and Philip for their Ipswich Wedding. I had been waiting to photograph Lauren & Philip’s wedding for a little while. With both of them living in different cities, I knew that it was going to be a beautiful day for the two of them with family and friends travelling near and far. Their ceremony was held at the beautiful St Mary’s in Ipswich with their reception being held at the Ipswich Railway Workshop Museum. We had the most spectacular sunset at the railway museum before the craziness of the crazy booth began. Here is their Real Life Wedding story.

Date of Wedding: 5th November 2011
Number of Guests: 120
Theme: Navy & White (Things that we love)

How did you meet and how long have you known eachother?
Lauren: Offically we met at Student night at the Indooroopilly Hotel. Although Phil is friends with a friend of mines brother (so we have been at parties together) and he worked at Woolworths with another close friend.  We have known each other for 6 years and together 5.5 years.
How did he propose?
Lauren:  After going to watch the lighting of the Christmas Tree in King George Square and then Dinner at Jelly Fish at Eagle Street Pier. Phil proposed in the lounge room of our home! We almost missed the tree lighting because Phil spent the afternoon at my parents house plucking up the courage to ask my dad’s permisson.

How did you find your overall experience with the above vendors?
Lauren: Fantastic, all of the vendors were so helpful and gave great advice.
Do you have any advice for other brides?
Lauren: Be willing to listen to a vendor’s advice, they are professionals, you never know when they may suggest something that you love more than your original idea. And the day really does go by so fast (I never really believed that one until I woke up the next morning)! So if you can afford it or have a wonderful friend or relative video the day (aside from your photos it will be an extremely cherished memory). And just remember at the end of the day you will be married to your Best Friend (this should be your mantra when things are going wrong or driving you crazy). So don’t sweat the small stuff and DO NOT let it and or others effect how you feel about your special day.
What made your wedding day so memorable?
Lauren: All of it! Having so many people that travelled (some from the other side of the world) to attend.  The absolute decimation of our lolly bar! (The getting married part too!)
What was the weather and location like on the day?
Lauren: It looked a bit cloudy in the morning but cleared up beautifully with a wonderful sunset. It was a little windy during photos. (There were a fair few saturday mornings like this in the month or so before the wedding)
If there was one thing that you would change from the day, what would it be and why?
Lauren: That our wonderful Sister-in-law had not spent the week before hand in Hospital, she made it out on the morning of the wedding and was there on the day. Other than that nothing, I cant think of one single thing that I was not delighted about on the day!

Brisbane Boudoir Photographer | Pretty in Pink, Miss Boudoir 2…

Miss Sammy | Boudoir | Annerley | 14th February 2012

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to work with my lovely sister Kara for our second Miss Boudoir session. The theme for this session was girly, pink, soft and the styling and the make up reflected our theme. For the shoot, I think I was really looking to capture emotion, laughing, sexy and fun. I love doing the miss boudoir sessions as they give me a chance to really take the time to experiment, play and try out some new techniques that I have learnt. Also I have two new backgrounds that I am just super excited to play with more – the gorgeous white rose over pink and my funky red sequin background. What do you think? Love?? I am in LOVE! Enough of my babbling! Here is the sneak peak from Miss Boudoir – Pretty in Pink.. Enjoy!

We are creating some gorgeous Save the Date cards from these images and the second part of this shoot next Saturday will be for the Wedding Invites. I love it when couples want to incorporate their gorgeous photographs into invites, save the dates and thank you cards. I think it gives it a very personal feel. So here is a little sneak peak from their shoot… Looking forward to catching up next Saturday for part 2. Enjoy!!
