On Saturday afternoon after my gorgeous newborn session, it was back to the studio for the first session of their baby plan – the maternity session. Amanda was glowing with a beautiful pregnancy glow and just looked radiant throughout the session and David was a great support for Amanda. I could see the love they share as a couple and the excitement they have for the impending birth of their baby. They are unaware of the sex of the baby, which is going to be a lovely surprise and have names for either sex. It was a pleasure photographing this special milestone in your lives and I can’t wait to meet and photograph your little bundle of joy in the next couple of weeks. Enjoy your sneak peak!

On Saturday morning I had the pleasure of meeting a gorgeous Master R. He was born last Sunday on Mother’s Day. What a perfect gift to the family. Master R was very good throughout the entire session and even gave us some gorgeous eyes open photographs. He was so tiny with gorgeous newborn skin and beautiful dark blue eyes. I know he is going to be a treasured addition to the family and no doubt his 2 older brothers Liam, Brockie and his older sister Caitlin are going to look out for him. Yesterday I had the pleasure of heading out to the country to photograph the adorable twin boys – Archer and Austin. And boy were they cute! I have never photographed twins before, so it was a great honour and challenge. Newborn photography can be quite tricky at the best of times, but times it by two and it can be a little bit crazy. That’s ok though, we just had a lot of patience and worked in with the boys schedules. The are just the cutest little boys! The are paternal twins and have quite distinctive differences between the two of them. And already, they have little personalities. So here is a little sneak peak of what we got up to yesterday and I can’t wait to show you the rest!

On Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of photographing the gorgeous Katie & Mason again for some intimate portraits before Mason heads off overseas to serve his country in the Air Force. He will be away for 6 months and being the longest time they will have ever spent apart it was important to capture some gorgeous images for them to think of each other while they are apart. We also captured a little bit of video to include with the photos for something

The AIPP is the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers and has been in operation for more than 40 years, and is the leading membership body for the photography community. I have been involved with the AIPP over the last couple of years and was an emerging member for 2 years. After opening up my studio this year, I thought it was time to move over to a fully accredited membership. There are many benefits of belonging to the AIPP. As an accredited photographer you are assessed and need to prove that you achieve and maintain an expected level of craftmanship, operate a registered business, have liability insurance, agree to abide by the code of ethics, terms and conditions of membership and business requirements, have a minimum of two years industry experience and continuous learning with the CPD (Continuous Professional Development Program).

I am very proud to be associated with such a well regarded professional body and am looking forward to The AIPP Event in the Hunter Valley in August where I will be attending a four day conference.

On Friday night I opened my studio doors and invited friends and family to come and check out my new space. It was a great night and a great chance for me to say thank you to everyone for their support and encouragement with my business. Without my amazing clients, supporting family and friends and of course my Andrew, I would not be where I am today and growing abundantly. I am proud of what I have achieved so far and look forward to growing my business and continuing to capture those precious moments of my client’s lives.

As well as awesome food (thanks Andy for the Macaroons and LT Cakes for the cupcakes) what is a photography studio opening without a crazy booth. And crazy it was. Please enjoy a few highlight images from the crazy booth.

Back in February, Priya and I had the privilege of heading down to the Gold Coast to photograph the gorgeous wedding of Jenny & Alex. I had been looking forward to photographing their wedding for quite a while as Jenny is quite crafty and new that all the details she created were going to be handmade and fabulous. And fabulous they were – especially her GORGEOUS bouquet! We had a fabulous day photographing Jenny and Alex’s wedding, even though the weather was less than co-operative (it poured all day until we got back to the reception!) but we made the best out of a yucky weather day and captured some gorgeous photographs for them. How did you meet and how long have you known each other?

Jenny: We met in Canberra, where we were living at the time, on a night out with friends and have now been together for 7 years.

How did he propose?

Jenny: Alex proposed on Valentines day in 2011. We went to ’16th on Park’ in Milton for a nice Valentines Dinner and then up to Mt Cooth-tha to have a look at the city lights and that’s where he proposed.

How did you find your overall experience with the above vendors?

Jenny: I found the vendors very pleasant and easy to deal with. Everyone strived to achieve what we had asked for and we wouldnt change a thing.

Do you have any advice for other brides?

Jenny: Just to relax and enjoy the day, it goes so quick and its so much fun.

What made your wedding day so memorable?

Jenny: All the friends and family travelling to help us celebrate our marriage.We moved from Canberra in January 2011 so just about all our guests had to travel to Qld and it was fantasic having them all around as they all mean alot to us.

What was the weather and location like on the day?

Jenny: The location was great, we had our wedding at the Southport Yacht Club at Main Beach in Queensland. The weather was not so great as it poured rain all day and didn’t stop until we were ready to settle into the reception. The Southport Yacht Club were wonderful and had the ceremony set up on their veranda so the rain was no problem. The reception looked stunning with the fairy lights set up and beautiful centre pieces. The food was delicious and the service was great. The functions manager made sure everything was going well and we had an amazing night.

If there was one thing that you would change from the day, what would it be and why?

Jenny: The weather as it rained all day but we got some amazing photos and still had an amazing day so really I dont think we would change anything.

On Friday afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing the gorgeous Miss A in the studio for a surprise anniversary gift for her partner. Miss A was gorgeous and really worked it for the camera. I loved her gorgeous lip colour (a personal favourite of Miss A) and her personalized props. I love tailoring the session to include personal items especially if it is a gift for someone special. Miss A, I just love some of your images and here is a small sneak peak of what’s to come! I can’t wait to show you the rest!

As well as some gorgeous images from Debie & Stephen’s wedding day, things also got a little CraZy at our Crazy Booth at the reception. Now if you don’t know what a crazy booth is, basically it is a little corner where we set up a background and a flash and everyone jumps in front of our cameras with some crazy props and gives us crazy photos. It is so much fun (especially after a couple of drinks) and gives everyone at your reception an opportunity to be involved in having their photograph taken!
