Suzy & James | Wedding | Laidley | 29th October 2011
On Saturday I had the pleasure of heading out to the lovely Branell Homestead just outside of Laidley for the wedding of Suzy and James. Suzy was an amazing bride. There were so many hand made details that just added to the day – the beautiful satin roses on her dress (which Suzy hand made her self), the gorgeous invitations, amazing reception details and just overall special details (like carrying a hankie from the groom’s late father down the aisle). It certainly was a gorgeous day filled with lots of details.
We started the day a little differently with photographing the girls first at Branell and then the boys. The boys were quite entertaining being true country boys and just plain old larikins. After an hour with the boys, we headed down the road to St Patricks Catholic Church for a lovely ceremony. Then it was back out to Branell for some location photos and onto the reception.
The day started out a little cloudy, but by the time we headed back to the homestead for the location photos, the sun had cleared and we had the most amazing golden sunlight. I love this time of year, as all the Jacaranda trees are in full bloom and the air just feels cleaner and more fresh. The bridal party was a hoot to photograph and Suzy was even game enough to slip through the fence in her beautiful gown just to take advantage of the beautiful light. After some gorgeous photos around the property, we headed down to the pavillion by the dam where Suzy and James celebrated informally the rest of their night with their closest family and friends.
Well Suzy and James, it was a pleasure to photograph your day and enjoy your sneak peak! I hope you have a fantastic time in Fiji and can’t wait to show you the rest when you return!
