Diana & Lachlan | Wedding | St Brigid & Customs House | 7th December 2013
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of Diana and Lachlan. What a beautiful day it was! The weather was perfect – the skies were blue and there was a light breeze just to keep the temperature down enough to a mild summer’s day. We started the day off at the boys where they were chilling out watching the cricket. The boys were lots of fun to photograph. You may see throughout the day, a bit of a running theme of cricket. Lachlan and his boys are mad cricket supporters so we had a little bit of a cricket theme running through some of the photos. After some great photos and lots of laughs, it was time to head over to photograph Diana and her girls getting ready. Diana’s parents home was just beautiful. It was high on the hill over looking the beautiful view towards Mt Cootha. I just loved the light in their home. It was so precious to be able to capture some beautiful photographs of the girls – especially the ones with the painting in the background. The painting is a family heirloom and is over 200 years old. How amazing it that!! I just love being able to feature beautiful historic elements in my couple’s photographs. After spending some time with the girls, it was off to St Brigid’s for the ceremony. Both Diana and Lachlan were excited to be married at St Brigid’s as they both have strong family connections to the church. With a beautiful ceremony, a few tears and a little bit of lipstick malfunction after the kiss (Lachly ended up with bright red lips) they were joined in holy matrimony. It was a beautiful ceremony. As Diana and Lachlan exited the church, a man with an accordion played some beautiful music for the guests to enjoy.
After a group shot and some family photographs, it was time for us to head off to capture some beautiful location photographs in and around Brisbane. We stopped in Paddington, then it was off to Roma Street Parklands for a few photos followed by more photographs at Customs House where the reception was being held. Customs House is a beautiful historic location and looked so beautiful! We spent the night capturing all of the beautiful speeches, great dancing and of course the nbp crazy booth and just before midnight, we said our goodbyes and Diana and Lachlan were off on their honeymoon.
A big thank you to Diana and Lachlan for asking me to photograph your wedding day. It was the most beautiful wedding to finish my wedding season for 2013. I hope you are enjoying your honeymoon and I can’t wait to show you all of the photographs when you get back!!
