Wow! It has been four weeks since I have returned from my life changing Machu Picchu adventure!! The time has certainly flown! I have been go go go since I have been back with weddings, a few portraits, photographing a handful of amazing shoots for Anything but Ordinary and helping Beth organize the opening party for All for Mary with funds being raised going to Youngcare.
So today marks the final day of fundraising for Youngcare. When I first enquired about possibly doing the trek, I was so full of nerves and fear that I wouldn’t be able to firstly do the trek, but also reach the fundraising target of $8000. While I fell just short of the $8000 target set for me, I am incredibly excited to announce that collectively we raised:
for Youngcare Australia. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I am so grateful for each and every person who left a donation, big or small through my online fundraising page, a big thank you to Kara and Dad for raising & donating $1000 from Ella Bache Ipswich and the clients there, a big thank you to Beth for letting me gate crash her opening party and creating a platform for me to speak about Youngcare, auction off some prints and raffles and help me get closer to reaching my target. We raised almost $1000 from the All for Mary night – a big thank you again.
My last thank you has been to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way. I couldn’t of done this all without you and it has truly warmed my heart how much each and every one of you supported me. Trekking the Moonstone Trek and seeing Machu Picchu was one of the most amazing life changing experiences I have ever had. It has challenged me, strengthened me, tested me, shown me how strong and determined I am and that when you associate yourself with the most amazing supportive people (thanks trekkers) you can get achieve anything (even with a bit of altitude sickness). I am a better person for completing this trek and to know that I was able to help out other young Australians that are less fortunate then me then I am incredibly blessed.
I look forward to creating an ongoing relationship with Youngcare and helping out where ever I can and maybe even completing another trek for them next year.
So it can’t be a nbp blog post without some photos, so here are a handful of photos from my trek in Peru. Enjoy!!
