2015! What a year it has been!
As I look back and ponder the year that was 2015 I am filled with tremendous gratitude for the year that was. 2015 was certainly a year filled with many ups and downs and probably been the hardest year for me so far in business. Each challenge I have overcome has certainly taught me a great lesson in how to deal with things and now that I have faced a few worst case scenarios I know that I can get through anything life throws at me both personally and professionally. And I believe that all of these challenges have set me up for the path that I choosing for my future. I have some big dreams for 2016 and I can’t wait to share them!
The biggest lesson that I have learnt this year both in my personal and professional life is that it is so important to surround yourself with great people. People you know would drop everything to lend you a hand, people you can rely on even if you haven’t chatted to them in a couple of weeks, people who would give their shirt of their back if you asked them to. I know I would not of made it through this year without the love and support of all my family and friends. So thank you.
Looking back at this year I am so grateful for so many things. I am firstly grateful to my family and friends for all their love, friendship and support. Secondly I am grateful for all of my beautiful clients. Without each and every one of you I would not have achieved or been able to do the things I have this year without your support. This year has really cemented to me how much I love boudoir and wedding photography. To all of my boudoir clients thank you so much for stepping out of your comfort zone, booking a shoot with me and sharing your story. I absolutely love photographing these sessions and I learn so much from each and every one of you. I love being able to capture beautiful photographs of my clients. And to all of my wedding clients, thank you so much for asking me to share in your day. Each and every one of you made me feel like I was part of the family and it was such a joy to be able to document and tell your story. I feel like I have grown so much as a wedding photographer this year and I look forward to next year celebrating my 10th year as a wedding photographer!
This year I also had the opportunity to tick some more things of my bucket list. I travelled to America for a couple of weeks earlier in the year, did an awesome road trip from San Fran to Vegas, attended WPPI one of the biggest photo conferences in the world and visited New York City a place I have always dreamed of going. I also thought it was time to get in front of the camera and do my own boudoir shoot with the lovely Kate in New York City. About a month after America, I was off to an incredible conference called Zero Regrets which gave me a good needed dose of inspiration and butt kick to make some changes in my life.
So here is to closing a challenging 2015 with a heart full of gratitude for the lessons learnt, challenges overcome and the amazing love and support I have in my life. I am so excited for 2016 and another amazing year in business. 2016 will be my 10th year photographing wedding and I will be photographing my 100th wedding as well. Its going to be a big year!!
Happy New Year everyone!! And it’s not a NBP post without a series of photographs, so enjoy a few photos from all my 2015 weddings!
