Just before Easter, I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of Jerardo & Kristy. It was a beautiful day, despite the fact that it pouring rain… all. day. long. What made is so special though was the fact that Kristy and Jerardo embraced the rain and didn’t let it rain on their parade. They got married. That was all that mattered. Here is a little bit about their real life wedding.

The History….

How did you meet?
Kristy: We met church

How long did you date?
Kristy: We were together a year.

How did he propose?
Kristy: 
Outside at his parents farm with fairy lights, a couch, candles and a video of all our moments together. 

The Wedding….

What was your wedding date?
Kristy: 
13th April 2014

Why did you choose this date? Any special reason?
Kristy: 
The 13th was the date we started officially dating.

Where did you have your wedding?
Kristy: 
Boulevard Gardens for the ceremony and Wynnum Golf Club for the reception.

Was there any special touches, vows, traditions or tributes that you included into your ceremony?
Kristy: We read each other a short speech before the vows and Jerado’s brother and sister sang a song for us “When God Made You.”

If you could pick one special moment from the day to remember what would it be?
Kristy: 
When we walked down the aisle as husband and wife.

What was your gown shopping experience like? Was this dress the first one you tried on? Did you try on hundreds, loved it, hated it?
Kristy: 
First shop I went to – about the fifth or sixth gown

Where there any special details you included in your day? Did you borrow a piece of jewellery etc?
Anikka: 
My mum gave me a blue bird that has been in our family for years she had it on her wedding day, my aunty had it at her wedding and so I had it pinned to my bouquet to have as my something blue and something old.

If you could describe the overall theme of your wedding day what would it be?
Kristy: Vintage

Kristy: Don’t stress about anything, it’s not worth it!

What made your wedding day so memorable?
Kristy: Just learning to go with the flow and enjoy the rain. 

What was the funniest memory from your wedding day?
Kristy: When Jerardo couldn’t untie the ring from the ring pillow.

What was the weather and location like on the day?
