Brisbane Wedding Photographer | The Story Behind the Photograph…

Today I am starting a new section on the blog called the “Story Behind the Photograph”. As wedding photographers, we have a very privileged place on a wedding day – we get to see all of the moments from getting ready, through to the ceremony and the reception. They say a picture is worth 1000 words, well I think it can mean so much more if you know the story behind the image. The emotion, the moments and the things leading up to that particular photograph. The photograph that I am going to tell the story behind today is from my most recent wedding – Jo & Joel.

This photograph was taken during Jo & Joel’s first dance at their wedding reception. They had planned a surprise for their wedding guests by taking dance classes to learn a dance to “Making Memories of Us” by Keith Urban. Nobody had any idea that they had learnt this amazing dance and they were so good!! This shot was taken throughout the dance. I just love the joy on their faces – the joy of pulling off their amazing dance, the joy of being married and of course the joy of just being completely in love with one another. How excited does Jo look?
