Leah & Carl | Wedding | HV & Brisbane | 27th November 2010
Over the weekend, I had the utmost pleasure in photographing the beautiful Leah and Carl on their wedding day. The day started out rather early with a 7am start and a beautiful shower of rain. (I however was feeling a little nervous that it was going to be like that all day!). But the showers cleared and a beautiful day presented itself.
This blog post is a little long, there was just too many AWESOME photos to choose from, so I am going to fill you in along the way. The day started out at the boys house, across the dam from where the girls were getting ready. I arrived at 7am and to my surprise the boys were up, ready and raring to go! Normally, the boys are half asleep when I arrive, so I was most certainly impressed.
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the light in the above photo. As it was showery, we had some really awesome reflective
natural light to play with. I love how strong the boys look in this photo.
Then as we finished with the boys, a heavy shower came across so we headed across the dam to photograph the girls. The girls were also incredibly amazing, with calmness and lots of excitment buzzing around the house. Leah made a STUNNING bride. Here are a few details of the girls.
Doesn’t she look so radiant!!
Then we were off to the church for the ceremony and a lunch time reception. Leah was quite upset earlier in the week as her Grandmother was in hospital and was unable to attend the wedding. So the bridal party, packed into a gorgeous limo and we headed down to Brissy to visit Grandma. She had no idea we were popping in for a visit and was quite surprised when the whole bridal party and photographer gate crashed her hospital room. It was a lovely surprise and a precious moment for all involved.
Then it was off to the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Storey Bridge, Botanical Gardens and finally the Marque hotel for some fun formal shots.
Leah was seriously this happy ALL day. She was just full of laughter and really enjoyed the entire day.
Well Leah and Carl, it was a pleasure to photograph such a fun group of people. You both seem so in love and are a perfect fit for one another. I wish you all the best for your life together and can’t wait to show you the rest!!
