brisbane wedding photographer eco studio fenilliEarlier this year I had the pleasure of capturing the beautiful wedding of Sean & Zee. They were married at Eco Studio Fenilli down in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The day was filled with lots of lots of love, laughter and so many good times. I absolutely love interviewing my couples about their wedding experience finding out how the planning experience was and of course how it was being photographed by me. So here is Sean & Zee’s real life wedding story as told by Zee.

The Gown….

Who designed your gown?
Mia Solano “Bellerose”

Where was it purchased?
Luv Bridal

What was your gown shopping experience like? Was this dress the first one you tried on? Did you try on hundreds, loved it, hated it?
I hated my Brisbane experience but when I went to the Gold Coast and Tweed Heads Bridal shops I had a lovely experience. I knew a few things I liked and told them lace was the only requirement.

Where there any special details you included in your day? Did you borrow a piece of jewellery etc?
My husbands Nan made my veil. It was hand laced and beaded. It was stunning.

What was your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?
My something borrowed was a red ruby off my mother in law also attached to my bouquet. My something old was a large family opal gifted to me by my mother in law on the day and attached to the inside of my dress. My something new was my dress. My something blue was the kitten heels I wore. I also had a penny in my shoe (also called a sixpence) 😉

Did you have any DIY elements to your day?
I made all of the signs for the wedding and the guests seating, I stamped the gift tags for the guests favors, I made the invitations

If you could describe the overall theme of your wedding day what would it be?
We gave the dress code, 50s glam. The colours were navy blue and merlot red.

Advice…
Do you have any advice for other brides?
Be organised early. set a budget early and shop around before booking to avoid blowing the budget early. On the day something will go wrong, don’t let yourself be overwhelmed by it and give it to someone else to handle.

What made your wedding day so memorable?
We were surrounded by the most loving group of friends and family and everything just came together

What was the funniest memory from your wedding day?
Hearing the ceremony prepared by the celebrant for us and the Best man’s speech. Or when Oliver (our eldest son) frisked his Grandmother for her choc chip cookies.

What was the weather and location like on the day?
HOT! Alot hotter than we anticipated.

If there was one thing that you would change from the day, what would it be and why?
Nothing. It went perfectly and when it didn’t it didn’t matter.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
QT Hotel Gold Coast
