It was such a beautiful day, full of many laughs and good times. I absolutely love sharing my client’s real life wedding experiences and how they found the wedding planning and their favourite moments. So here is their real life story as told by Bec!

The History….

How did you meet?
A night out in Brisbane.

How long did you date?
We dated for 1 year before we moved in together and 4 ½ years before Dale proposed.

How did he propose?
Surprised me with a weekend away at the Mt Mee Cottages – when I arrived Dale hand candles lighting up the balcony surrounding the engagement ring and got down on one knee.

The Wedding….

What was your wedding date?
13 August 2016

Why did you choose this date? Any special reason?
Great time of year.

Where did you have your wedding?
Hillstone St Lucia

If you could pick one special moment from the day to remember what would it be?
When Bec walked down the aisle, she could see Dale tearing up.

The Gown….

Who designed your gown?
Pronovias.

Where was it purchased?
White Lily Couture.

What was your gown shopping experience like? Was this dress the first one you tried on? Did you try on hundreds, loved it, hated it?
I had a fair idea I already wanted my dress as I researched Pronovias dresses online before I went and tried it on at White Lily.

Where there any special details you included in your day? Did you borrow a piece of jewellery etc?
I wore my Grandmother’s sapphire ring, and my mum made by a purse made from my Grandmother’s dress.

What was your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?
Something old – Grandmother’s sapphire ring
Something new – everything else I wore basically!
Something borrowed – I wore my sister-in-law’s (Nancy) hair piece.
Something Blue – My purse that mum made out of fabric from my Grandmother’s dress.

Did you have any DIY elements to your day?
“My advice to the bride and groom’ cards for my guests, place cards, table numbers and guests gift packs.

If you could describe the overall theme of your wedding day what would it be?
Rustic chic.

Advice…

Do you have any advice for other brides? 
Be an observer of your day, otherwise it goes too fast and you’ll  miss it! And smile when you walk down the aisle.

What made your wedding day so memorable?
Everything.

What was the funniest memory from your wedding day?
Speeches by far.

What was the weather and location like on the day?
Weather was spectacular, clear blue skies and not too hot.

If there was one thing that you would change from the day, what would it be and why?
I probably would have liked a videographer, but photos still tell a great story.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Port Douglas.
