Emma & Damien | Wedding | Newstead House & Moda Restaurant Brisbane | 6th April 2013
On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful Emma & Damien on their wedding day. The day was showery, but lucky for us, a shower came through just before the ceremony, at the start of location photographs and throughout the night. It held of enough that we were able to capture some beautiful photographs and the ceremony was able to be held outdoors.
We started the day with the boys at Damien’s parent’s house. The house was so quiet when we arrived, we weren’t sure if we were at the right house. But the boys were just cool calm and collected and ready to get the day started. Damien was full of smiles and loved being goofy in front of the camera. We were able to play a little bit of pool and head over to the next door neighbours bar for some great photos.
Then it was off to the girls where there was a little bit more going on. Hair and make up was being finished off and the girls were looking cute in their floral bathrobes. The beautiful flowers were from Green & Bloom and they were just divine! I loved the mixture of different textures and colours for the bouquets. They matched the colour of the bridesmaids perfectly. I loved the little touches Emma also had on her bouquet. She had a green budda charm from her grandfather, a beautiful rose brooch from her grandma and a pearl bracelet that her parents gave her on her wedding day. Emma was also lucky enough to wear the beautiful veil that her Mum wore on her wedding day. Emma looked stunning in her Jean Fox Gown. I loved all the gorgeous detail around her waist.
Then it was off to the ceremony at Newstead House in style in Kenz Classic Cars. I love the old limos. They are just beautiful and a very elegant way to arrive to the wedding. The ceremony was held in the courtyard out the front of Newstead House. The aisle was lined with beautiful flowers in mason jars and gorgeous grey chairs. I loved all the little details throughout the day including both parents walking down the isle before the bridal party did – Damien’s parents and Emma’s Mum and Brother. It was a really special touch. Emma’s Dad was smiling so proudly the entire length of the isle and Damien had a grin from ear to ear. He was so excited to see his beautiful bride. After a short but sweet ceremony, they were pronounced as husband and wife. A beautiful afternoon tea was held at Newstead House for the guests to enjoy while Emma and Damien had family photographs. After a few photographs around Newstead House it was off to the Botanical Gardens for some bridal party portraits. As we arrived, a heavy shower came down, but we made it work and heading into Moda Restaurant (where the reception was being held) to shelter from the rain before it eased and we were able to head into the gardens for some more photographs.
Then it was time to head back to Moda Restaurant to get the party started! Amini Concepts styled the restaurant and it was just beautiful. So many candles, beautiful flowers and special little touches created such a beautiful atmosphere for Emma and Damien to share their first meal as husband and wife surrounded by their friends and family. The speeches were beautiful, funny and heartfelt and the dancing was wild and a whole lot of fun. We thoroughly enjoyed the participation of everyone in the crazy booth (sneak peek tomorrow) and I have been laughing hysterically every time I have a look through the photographs.
It was such a wonderful day. A big thank you to Danielle from White + White for co-ordinating the day and to Emma and Damien for inviting us to photograph your day. It was a wonderful day and we had so much fun capturing all of your beautiful moments. Enjoy the sneak peek and I will see you when you get back from your honeymoon!
How proud does Emma’s Dad look?
Do I have the rings…. let me find them!
