Keith & Samantha | Wedding | Ipswich | 30th August 2014
Back in August I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of Keith & Samantha. This was an incredibly special wedding as they both flew out from the UK to celebrate with Samantha’s Australian family and friends. The day was filled with so many beautiful moments and traditions that it was a privilege to be part of. I think Samantha described the theme of her wedding as “Family” and I certainly think that is the best way to summarise the day. Even I felt part of this beautiful family. It was certainly a special day for me to be part of. Here is their Real Life Wedding Story as told by Samantha.
Bride’s Name: Samantha Kate Burow
Groom’s Name: Keith Bunce
Date of Wedding: 30 August 2014
Number of Guests: 50
How did you meet?
Sam: Online dating in the UK. My friend dared me to give it a go. Uniform dating 🙂
How long did you date?
Sam: About 3 months before the proposal
How did he propose?
Sam: Quite casually introduced it into the conversation. I wasn’t too surprised as we were on the same wave length from the start.
What was your wedding date?
Sam: 30 August 2014
Why did you choose this date? Any special reason?
Sam: So our UK guests wouldn’t melt in the Australian heat
Where did you have your wedding?
Sam: The Ipswich Club
Was there any special touches, vows, traditions or tributes that you included into your ceremony?
Sam: We had a piper and a celtic hand fasting to honour my Scottish heritage, we also lit a memorial candle for my Dad, and Keith’s Nan. And we also wrote our own vows and kept them secret until the big moment.
If you could pick one special moment from the day to remember what would it be?
Sam: When my mum lifted my veil and gave her blessing to Keith and I
Where did you purchase your gown from?
Sam: Berketex Bride Maidstone UK
What was your gown shopping experience like? Was this dress the first one you tried on? Did you try on hundreds, loved it, hated it?
Sam: The first one I saw and tried on, fell in love with it. The staff were amazing and so helpful
Where there any special details you included in your day? Did you borrow a piece of jewellery etc?
Sam: I wore a brooch that belonged to my great grandmother and pinned my Mum’s, Dad’s and Nanna’s rings to it. I also had a button brooch by Nic’s Button and Buds that included special things like my Dad’s cufflinks, photos of my parents, Keith’s army badge and our initials.

Something old – antique brooch
