Katie & Mason | Wedding | Robelle Domain Parklands | 21st September 2013
On Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of photographing the long awaited wedding of Katie & Mason. I was a little worried at the beginning of last week when I flew back in to Brisbane that the weather was going to be windy and rainy, but after a few days the rain cleared and the sunshine came out in force. On Saturday, there was not a cloud in the sky and Mason and Katie couldn’t of asked for a better day. We started the day off with the boys getting ready. As usual, the boys needed a bit of motivation to get in the shower and get ready. Mason was really calm and no sign of nerves. The boys were lots of fun to photograph and really set the tone for the day. Then it was off to the girls, who were just around the corner to photograph a little more of the chaos that getting ready brings. Katie was looking stunning with her beautiful makeup by Kara and her gorgeous hair by her talented friend. Katie wore a beautiful Maggie Solletto gown with gorgeous red Alan Pinkus shoes. The girls were also great fun to photograph, with lots of giggles and general mischief being had.
Then it was off to Robelle Domain for the ceremony. Mason and Katie were the first ever people to get married at Robelle and the parklands are beautiful. Katie walked down the aisle to A Thousand Years with her handsome groom beaming from ear to ear. After a beautiful sweet ceremony hosted by Jennifer, Mason and Katie’s union was sealed with a kiss. Then after a gorgeous group shot (I heart rose petals!) it was time to spend an hour or so with the bridal party walking around Robelle taking some beautiful photographs. I really love photographing in this park. It has the most amazing afternoon light, beautiful natural textures and is big enough to not have to worry about members of the general public being in the background of every photo. The bridal party were a hoot during the photos as well and kept both Christian and I giggling for most of it!
After the photos, it was off to the local Thai restaurant for a relaxed casual wedding reception. No formalities (other than cake) just the opportunity to celebrate their special day with their family and friends in a relaxed environment. Mason and Katie it was such a pleasure for me to photograph your wedding day. It seemed like we had been planning it for such a long time. I hope the day was everything you imagined and that your married life together is one of love, peace, happiness and contentment! You will have to start having babies now so I can keep photographing you! LOL!!!! Enjoy your sneak peek!!!
