Alexandra & Paul | Wedding | Herb Garden Sydney Botanical Gardens | 20th January 2013
Over the weekend, Priya & I had the pleasure of flying to Sydney to photograph the beautiful wedding of Alexandra & Paul. It was such a pleasure to be asked to come down for the weekend and I am so glad we did. While the weather in Sydney was a little dreary, it had no impact on the beauty of the day. Alexandra & Paul chose to have a beautiful, relaxed and intimate wedding with only 16 guests in attendance. It was so beautiful to document the love between Alex and Paul, but also the relationship they have with their immediate family. I feel truly blessed to have witnessed such a beautiful day.
We started the day with the boys getting ready at the Four Season’s Hotel. The overcast day gave us such beautiful light to work with in the room, and the lobby gave us some great Bond inspired shots of the boys. We then headed up the road to the Amora Hotel where the girls had been getting ready. Everything was nice and relaxed and the girls were looking gorgeous. Alexandra had a beautiful Rachel Gilbert gown and the most GORGEOUS headpiece. Simple, yet elegant. She even made her own bouquet.
After the preparation photographs, we headed over to the Herb Garden at the Sydney Royal Botanical Gardens. It is such a beautiful spot in the gardens – well manicured, beautiful herbs and a gorgeous sandstone rotunda. Alexandra and Paul’s ceremony was filled with beautiful vows, readings from all their siblings and even a few tears. Their union was sealed with a kiss and a cheer from their family. After the family photographs, we wandered in and around the beautiful botanical gardens. Alexandra and Paul are such a cute couple together – they are giggly and Paul gave us many hilarious facial expressions to work with. We captured some absolutely gorgeous images for them.
Then it was off to the O Bar on the 47th floor – a rotating restaurant that slowly moves around with panoramic views of Sydney. We were lucky with the weather, that the rain held out until we arrived at the restaurant, but it made the views a little foggy. Alexandra & Paul hired the private dining room and with one long dining table, their families celebrated into the night over a beautiful degustation dinner, heartfelt speeches and gorgeous cake.
Thank you so much Alexandra & Paul for inviting Priya & I to be part of your special day. We had a wonderful weekend in Sydney and we wish you a lifetime of happiness together. Enjoy your sneak peak!
