Todd & Hannah | Wedding | Thornton | 27th September 2014
Over this past weekend, I had the pleasure of heading out to the country for the beautiful wedding of Hannah and Todd. And wow! What a wedding it was. I have actually been really struggling on how to word the experience of being part of their special day. I honestly have never felt so special as a wedding photographer and every single person at the wedding made both Mary and I feel incredibly welcome, like we were also family. Todd and Hannah only made the decision just over 3 months ago to plan and have their wedding due to some family circumstances and I was completely blown away as to how beautiful and well it had all come together in such a small timeframe. From Hannah’s gorgeous lace gown, to the hand made ring boxes to the cute little signs throughout the day. Every thing was perfect – including the weather. We had such blue skies, a sprinkling of cloud and while everyone else was ducking for cover from storms, the storm appear and went around. It truly was a magical day.
We started the day with the boys getting ready just down the road from the ceremony. The boys were so much fun to photograph and Hannah had thought a lot about all the little details. Todd and each of his groomsmen all had little survival kit goodie bags just to make sure they had everything they need (including their toothbrushes) to relax and enjoy the day. I know that this is one of the many reasons why Todd loves Hannah – she is so incredibly thoughtful and caring. Then it was off down the road to photograph the girls getting ready. Hannah was just finishing off her makeup (by Kara from Ella Bache Ipswich) as we arrived. Again, there was so many sweet details and I just loved the unique look of the bridesmaids!! Hannah was super excited to be getting married and was such a joy to photograph!
After some gorgeous photos with the girls, it was off to the Lavender Farm for the beautiful ceremony officiated but the lovely Cathy. There were so many gorgeous moments throughout the ceremony – Hannah’s Dad walking her down the isle, Autumn the little flower girl hesitating walking down the aisle only to then stand in front of everyone and say “Ow’, followed by the beautiful personalised vows that Hannah and Todd wrote for each other and a gorgeous rope hand fasting ceremony where they ended with a sparkly kiss.
Then it was off around the farm for some beautiful bridal portraits. We had the most amazing afternoon sunlight in the barley fields where Todd loved running through like a Giselle. A few more schengians and a whole lot of fun we worked out way in and around the farm and back to the Marquee where all the guests were mingling while we were having photos. Todd and Hannah then rocked it out with an epic dance to enter the reception. After a great (and super filling) dinner, we headed outdoors to play around with some sparklers and the stars before we headed back in for some beautiful speeches, a very special father daughter dance and we ended the night with an epic sparkler run.
Thank you again so much Hannah and Todd for the privilege of asking us to photograph your wedding day. We seriously felt like photographic royalty all day and just had an absolute blast. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and I can’t wait to show you the rest!
