Last Friday I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the lovely Andrew and Rebecca on their wedding day. They were married down at Bend of the River in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Bend of the River is an absolutely stunning property perfect for intimate weddings, which is exactly what Andrew and Rebecca wanted. They did their wedding their way. They worked out what was important, choose amazing suppliers to bring their wedding experience to life and added their own special touches.
Then it was over to the girl’s side to capture some beautiful portraits of the girls getting ready.
As Andrew and Rebecca planned to walk down the aisle together, they decided to do a first look under this big beautiful fig tree. The weather was looking a little cloudy with possible showers, but just before we headed out for the first look, the sun came out from behind the clouds. It was perfect timing, especially as for the rest of the day the sun barely came out.
Their first look was incredibly special to watch. I could feel Andrew’s sense of anticipation and emotion, standing looking out from the big fig tree. When Bec tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around, it was just so beautiful to watch and capture. You could see that they truly had a special bond.
After the initial first look, we walked around the bottom of the property capturing some couple photos before heading up to the homestead to wait for the ceremony to begin. It was so perfect as they both wanted to spend the maximum time with their guests on the day.
Just before the ceremony, the property Peacock made an appearance. He knew something exciting was happening so he came out to show off. How incredible are his colours?
Then it was back up the hill to the homestead for the ceremony. The dark rain clouds were building just before the ceremony, but lucky for us, the weather held off. The lovely Shane Vincent was their celebrant and together with Andrew and Rebecca crafted a beautiful heartfelt ceremony. Their ceremony was full of laughter, interesting stories and beautiful emotion. There was so much love and warmth radiating from under the tree.
After the ceremony it was time for a group photograph and some family snaps before guests mingled, played games from Gathering Events while snacking on incredible canapes from Cris Feldens Catering. All of the food was selected from Andrew & Rebecca’s round the world trip. The canapés, entrees and mains were different dishes they enjoyed from around the world. Then for dessert Wheel & Spoon came in to hand out gelato to the guests to accompany the yummy baked cheesecake Bec made as the wedding cake!
Some of the tasty canapés from around the world!
While we were standing on the lawn, the sun poked out just for a few minutes so I could capture some gorgeous portraits of the new Mr & Mrs!As the sun set, the fire was lit and guests headed into the tipi for some relaxed formalities of the evening. These guys wanted the night to feel like a dinner party with just a handful of speeches, great food, amazing music from Sarah Archer and of course a cake cut and first dance.
Just love this sequence of images of Andrew and his brother. So much emotion.
Thank you so much Andrew and Rebecca for inviting me to capture your wedding day. It was truly a magical day to be part of. A massive thank you to all of the wonderful suppliers who made the day happen:
