A question that I commonly get asked is, do you photograph couples? And my answer is no. And here is why.
Firstly I don’t want to put myself in a situation that makes me feel uncomfortable. Photographing boudoir in the couple genre completely changes the dynamic of the photoshoot from sensual and feminine to more sexual. And I never want to be in a situation where a couple is almost having sex in my studio. And for me, it’s not what boudoir photography is all about.
Boudoir photography is all about the woman – it’s about embracing her body, feeling comfortable and confident in her own skin and feeling empowered. I want her to walk away looking and feeling amazing. I want the session to be all about her. Her experience. Her feelings. Her results.
By adding in the guy, it completely changes the dynamic of the photo shoot. Women have a really interesting relationship with their bodies that a lot of guys don’t really understand. And by adding in another person it changes the focus of the shoot from the woman to the couple and their dynamics.
If you really want to include your partner in the shoot, then I will happily recommend some other boudoir photographers who love capturing couples and will be the perfect fit for you.
Boudoir photography at NBP is all about the woman and making her look and feel beautiful.
