Wow! What a year 2011 has been!! I can’t believe that it is 2012 already. It feels like 2011 was a really long year, yet at the same time it feels like it has flown by. Certainly 2011 has been a year of ups and downs both personally and professionally. It has been a year of growth, a year of hardships, a year of celebrating the good times with more vigour and enthusiasm than ever before (I think this is due to the crazy hard times), a year of travel and an amazing year of photographing 18 weddings and many many portrait sessions. I have met some amazing people and truly feel blessed to be able to do what I love!
I have so many blog posts that I want to share about my experiences in 2011, but I will have to pace myself and not turn all that is within my head into one really really long post. So today’s post is about my little personal photography project that I started at the beginning of last year. I wanted to do something that was just for me. Something to record my movements, experiences, places and people that I have been to and met throughout the year. I decided to create 2011 – The Year of Hipstamatic. If you are unsure what Hipstamatic is, it is a iPad/iPhone app that you can create awesome vintage style photos with your phone. They are pretty funky and your phone is something that is always with you. It really has been a fun project and I truly think that I am going to be keeping it up this year. Whenever I have 5 mins spare, or I see something that sparks my creativity, then I pull out my phone and photograph it. They may not all be award winning shots, but when you view them as a group they look pretty cool. I think over the last year I took around 1300 hipstamatic photos and without boring you to death, I thought I would share just a few… so here it is… 2011 – The Year in Hipstamatic
(There are photos here of Cairns, Brisbane, Malaysia, Christchurch, Melbourne, Sydney – It certainly was the year of travel for us!)
