A year today, I started this blog. Wow! How quickly time has passed. In February last year, I made the decision that I wanted to be a photographer full time and work for myself. I look back over this past year and I am incredibly proud of what I have achieved. I have loved photographing every person who is featured on this blog. You – my clients are how I get to do what I love. And I THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for helping me to realize my dream.
What have I learnt in the past year? Well. A heck of a lot. Running a business on your own can sometimes be like riding a rollercoaster – full of ups and downs. I have learnt being a good photographer doesn’t make you a good business person. I have learnt to appreciate my clients no matter what their budget is. I have learnt so much from so many fellow photographers by attending luncheons and seminars. I have made some fabulous photography friends. But the biggest thing I have learnt over the past year is to be happy. Happy with where life is at the moment, achieving a good work life balance and making time for family and friends as they are the MOST important people in your lives.
I am so excited by what this next year holds – 14 weddings, a variety of portrait sessions, travelling overseas and getting married!! I am looking forward to creating beautiful images for my clients, becoming a better business person and achieving a good work life balance. There are lots of exciting changes in the pipelines as well for my online presence, so stay tuned and let me know what you think.
As a thank you to all of my clients for an AWESOME first year of business, the first 10 people to comment on this blog post will receive a complimentary portrait session and print worth $75!!!
So here is a snapshot of some of my favourite images for the year!
Live. Laugh. Love. Create.
