On Sunday night, I had the priviledge to attend the Muse concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. (If you don’t know who Muse is, then here is a link). The show was A-MAZING! The rocked it! For over 2 hours, non stop the boys from Muse gave us an unstoppable show that left me in awe of their talent. The lead singer had the most amazing voice with high ranges, that I don’t even think I could ever hit and as a band they are so very talented musicians! Definitely masters of their craft.
So other than bragging about how amazing and awesome these guys, why do I feel compelled to talk about them on here. Well.. its the one word inspiration. Besides the fact that Muse are A-MAZING musicians (i just cant stop saying it!!) they put on an AWESOME visual show as well. The sets, the lighting, the projections – every song had a visual theme and the multimedia was tailored to suit what the song was trying to say. It was awesome! After I left the concert, besides loosing a little of my hearing, I felt like I had just been visually inspired in some way. I can’t really explain it, nor have I gone out of my way to photograph something to look like the concert this week, but I feel like I have tucked away some of the visual sights into a tiny pocket of my brain, ready to unleash at the right time – whether it be a wedding or a portrait session, I know it will pop up and give me an idea at the right time.
So I guess this post is about encouraging you to fill your mind with visual inspiration. It could be a Muse concert, or a creative movie or even something as simple as a magazine. I know I am alway on the lookout for inspiration (consciously or sub-consciously), I guess it is just part of being a creative person. Fulling your creative vision.
How do you find inspiration? Feel free to leave me some comments to let me know what inspires you. In the meantime, here are a couple of snaps from the Muse concert. Don’t hate me, but they are shot on my iPhone !
