Boys at the Beach | Commerical | Southport | 5th December 2013
Back in September, just after I arrived back from Peru, I headed down to Southport with the lovely Natrice from Marli and Mo to photograph a selection of editorials for the summer edition of Anything but Ordinary. Being a summer edition, we thought what better way to celebrate then by hanging at the beach. We chose Southport as the location for our afternoon of shooting and we photographed three editorials that afternoon. One of my favourite editorials, was the boys at the beach. I had this vision of the boys playing in an old wooden boat on the beach with some fishing gear, allowing their imaginations to run wild. Natrice and I were lucky enough to source a gorgeous old boat from Chinderah Bay Antiques and a few awesome props for the boys to use. We were so lucky that the boat fitted in the back of my car with all of the equipment and supplies we had to cart to the shoot. Then once we arrived in Southport, we had to drag the boat from the car park to the beach – which was no mean feat! Then we waited for our models to arrive.
The gorgeous clothing for this shoot was from Tilly & Otto. I just love the chevron shorts that all of the boys were wearing. Perfect for a day at the beach. We had so much fun running up and down the sand dunes and the most beautiful golden sunlight and perfect sunset. One of my favourite photo shoots to date.
