A couple of months ago, I started a personal project to complete a series of personal photo shoots with the amazing Rae from Rae Murray Hair and Makeup. They were for the elemental series – earth, fire, wind and water. Rae created an amazing bright and colourful makeup look that we just had to capture in the studio, before heading out to a friends pool. It was an amazing experience shooting in a pool. I must admit, I didn’t quite get the specific shot that I had in my minds eye, but I still had fun playing. Photographing in water is so much more challenging then you think. Even photographing from above the pool into the water. The angles are really challenging. I’d love to try a shoot similar to this again, in a larger pool and full underwater camera housing for my SLR. I did end up in the pool at the end – fully clothed with my go pro camera! It was certainly fun to play, even though I didn’t quite get the shot I wanted… the joys of being a perfectionist and setting oneself high expectations!!
These last couple were shot using my gopro camera underwater. Pretty cool, but I had no idea what I was shooting!! The fun of it!!
