Back in April, I headed down to Melbourne with a bunch of photographers for the first ever Zero Regrets conference. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the conference, but I knew that it was going to be great. The was the first ever of it’s kind and the brain child from Matt and Katie so I knew that it was going to be a great few days.
The conference was held at the awesome Backlot Studios, which is an old movie theatre converted into a convention/meeting space. It was perfect for the 60 delegates and handful of speakers. It had an intimate feel and gave us the opportunity to network and create new friendships with the speaker and other photographers attending. One of the things that really stood out for me, was the thought and effort that went into making sure that we all got to know each other and had ample time chatting with each other and the speakers. It’s not very often you get 1 on 1 time with speakers so it was great to be able to pick their brains during break times and dinners that were organised.
One of the other awesome opportunities we had as photographers was to be able to head out on early morning photo walks with a couple of the speakers. I only made it to one (early starts and late nights) but it was awesome walking around the streets near Backlot and capturing interesting photographs.
My time at Zero Regrets had such a great impact on my life, my photography and facing my fears. It was the catalyst for all of the crazy changed that has just occurred in my life and I am really enjoying settling in to my new normal. So here are a few photos from the photo walk.
