Brisbane Wedding Photography | A Real Life Wedding…

Leah & Carl | Wedding | HV & Brisbane | 27th November 2010

I thought I would try something a little different on the blog with a Real Life Wedding Story. I know everyone loves looking at photos from a wedding day, but it is also nice to read about the thoughts from the bride and groom as well. So here is a little interview with Leah about her wedding day..

How did the two of you meet?

Leah: Carl & I have been friends for many years. However about 18 months ago, we started emailing and talking more regularly so Carl moved to Brisbane and everything grew from there. We both had things happen to us in our lives that brought us together and allowed us to survive and make a new life together.

How did he propose?

Leah: Carl called me upstairs into his room. He was standing there with 3 roses behind his back. He gave one to me at a time. Each one had a note:
1. This rose represents the past.
2. This rose represents the present.
3. This rose represents the future. On this rose was also my ring.

Carl then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! (Awww!!)

Leah: Each and every one of them were amazing! Whatever we asked for  was not too much trouble and they did whatever they could to help! I would recommend each and every one of them!!!

Do you have any advice for other brides?

Leah: Yes, don’t sweat the small stuff!! Put your day into perspective! Yes, you want it to work out and be beautiful BUT it’s all the days that come after, that truely matter!!! As long as your groom is waiting for you at the ceremony, your day will be PERFECT! Your wedding is one day, your marriage is your WHOLE LIFE!!

What was the the weather and location like on the day?

Leah: The day began raining but cleared to a beautiful sunny day. Every location was perfect!

If there is one thing that you could change from the day, what would it be and why?

Leah: Carl and I would not change anything about our day – it was what we wanted. We just want to do it AGAIN – it was so much fun!!!

Thank you Leah for your great interview! It was an absolute pleasure photographing your wedding. It didn’t even feel like “work” – just hanging out with friends, having a good time taking photos! Thank you for your lovely testimonial. Without my clients, I wouldn’t have a business, so THANK YOU!!!
