On Saturday I had the absolute pleasure of heading up to Toowomba to photograph the beautiful wedding of David and Regan. It was such a beautiful day with clear blue skies and a little bit of a breeze! We started out the day in a little bit of a panic… as we ended up as part of the “Lights on the Hill” memorial truck drive taking place on the Warrego Highway which delayed us for a little bit with traffic. Luckily I always allow a little bit of extra time for those just in case moments and it turned out feeling quite special being part of the drive. The boys were incredibly chilled when we arrived. They were having a beer and playing a few rounds of pool. David is a little bit of a self confessed nerd with a big love of superheros (and an even bigger love for Regan) and comic books, so it was fun to see how they incorporated this into the day. The boys had superhero shirts, cuff links and tie pins. We had some fun with these and found a way to include a collection of comic books. David was super relaxed throughout the entire process and was super excited to be marrying Regan. Then it was off to the girls in Toowoomba for their preparation photos. Things were a little bit more hectic at the girls but Regan was super excited to be marrying David. She looked absolutely stunning in her gorgeous gown and the flowers were absolutely beautiful especially since Regan made them herself. We had lots of giggles with the girls.
Before long it was off to Highfields Cultural Centre for the beautiful ceremony. The lovely Tracey Moyle created the perfect ceremony for David and Regan! It was filled with their beautiful love story, a few Dr Who quotes and beautiful emotive vows that left both David and Regan (and most of the guests) in tears. It was beautiful to see how emotional these two lovebirds were. After they exchanged rings, they sealed their union with a kiss and Tracey pronounced them husband and wife! Then we signed the register, captured a group photo and a beautiful collection of family portraits.
After the family photos we headed off to Spring Bluff for the beautiful location photos. Spring Bluff was absolutely stunning. Being spring it was full of beautiful colourful blooms and the historic railway station made for a beautiful photo background. The bridal party were so much fun and worked with us so well considering we had a very limited amount of time. Before long it was back to the Cultural Centre for the reception. As we came back up the range to Toowoomba, I saw the most majestic sunset and we hurried up to wave down the car carrying the bride and groom. Luckily they kind of understood what we meant when crazily waving them down and we pulled over to capture a beautiful sunset silhouette. Then it was back to the reception to party the night away.
Thank you so much David and Regan for asking us to capture your beautiful wedding day. It was such a pleasure. And a big thank you to Mel for being my second shooter and putting up with my car karaoke antics! Enjoy your sneaky peek!
