Keith & Samantha | Wedding | The Ipswich Club | 30th August 2014
On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding day of Keith and Samantha. They had flown all the way from the UK to get married in Samantha’s home town. I was so worried that the weather was going to be horrible, but we woke to the most beautiful sunny day and we had the most spectacular sunset. Mary and I started the day with the boys getting ready. Keith was quite relaxed (a little nervous) but we had a few good laughs. Then it was off to the girls where Samantha was looking absolutely beautiful and excited to be putting her gorgeous gown on. Samantha made such a beautiful bride! The girls looked beautiful in their navy dresses and Sam’s bouquet was just beautiful. Nic’s Button Buds created a beautiful bouquet full of blue and maroon roses and a handful of beautiful and special brooches. After we finished at the girls we headed to the Ipswich Club where a beautiful ceremony was held on the front lawn. The ceremony was officiated by the lovely Lyne C Taylor who combined many beautiful traditions with personalised vows to create a beautiful heartfelt ceremony. It was incredibly special to have Lyne authorise their marriage as Lyne knew Samantha as a baby! Something a little special and as homage to Sam’s Scottish heritage, the lovely Piper Joe played as Samantha walked down the aisle. There was something so beautiful about the bag pipes being played – even I was emotional. Sam’s maternal Grandfather was Scottish, so a celtic hand tying and Quaich ceremony was included in the ceremony. The Tartan used was Sam’s maternal grandfather’s Logan clan tartan. After their union was sealed with a kiss, we headed up to UQ Ipswich for some bridal portraits and one of the most spectacular sunsets I have been lucky enough to photograph. Then it was back to the Ipswich Club for the reception where Samantha and Keith shared their first meal as husband and wife with their beautiful family and friends.
Thank you so much Keith and Samantha for asking me to photograph your day. It was so beautiful to watch the love that you share for each other and your family and to see the many different traditions throughout the day. Enjoy your sneak peek and I can’t wait to show you the rest!!!
