Chantelle & Darren | Wedding | Ipswich | 18th December 2010
Well it’s time to post another Real Life Wedding story on the blog. Today’s feature is from Darren & Chantelle’s wedding in December last year. Here is a little interview I did with Chantelle.
How did you meet and how long have you known eachother?
Chantelle: We met exactly three years to the day we married at a local establishment in Ipswich. However we had a mutual friend that would host parties but never ran into each other as when I went Darren wasnt there and vive versa. It was like we were meant to be together and when we did finally met we were inseparable from that day.
How did he propose?
Chantelle: Darren took me to O’Reilly at Mount Tamborine. The whole drive to there he wouldnt speak as looking back now he was so nervous. He had planned a picnic with a packed lunch and I thought the ring was in the lunch. I pulled all the food out but it wasnt there. He was about to ask me the question when an elderly gentlemen came over to compliment us on our picnic rug. Just when he was about to ask again, the gentleman again walked back with his wife. Finally Darren said “do you want your other surprise'”. I got really excited and said yes. He then asked ” do i have to ask” as he was so nervous. I looked at him and siad ‘yeah’ and then he pulled out a beautiful ring he had chosen himself and said Will you marry me”. It was very cute as I havent seen him so nervous. Five minutes later it started to rain. it was such a lovely feeling knowing that he had bought this ring and asked my father for permission to marry me without me knowing. It was just one of the many nice things he does for me!

Do you have any advice for other brides?
Chantelle: Good planning is necessary and remember you should plan together as a couple as it is both your day. But most of all Relax and enjoy the day as it goes so fast.
What made your wedding day so memorable?
Darren: “Seeing your beautiful face”. (Awww!!)
Chantelle: Also everyone was having a great time. Our bridal party were great and we had alot of fun with them throughout the day. Also it was nice to see all the planning come together ( I am a control freak), but most of all the vows and committments we made to each other and realising this was the person who was going to share the rest of my life with.
What was the weather and location like on the day?
Chantelle: It was overcast and rained at times, but was clear when we were having photos. During the ceremony the Bishop mentioned a close family member who Darren had lost at the start of the year and when the Bishop was talking about him it started to rain.
If there was one thing that you would change from the day, what would it be and why?
Thank you Chantelle for your wonderful interview! It was a great pleasure to be a guest as well as a photographer at your wedding and I was so proud to be able to surprise you with a slideshow from the day! I would also like to thank my lovely fiancé Andrew, who carried my bags throughout the day xo. Thank you for your wonderful testimonial. Again, without my beautiful clients I wouldn’t have a business, so THANK YOU!!!!
