Last year I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the lovely Andrew and Kristen on their wedding day. It was such a gorgeous September day and I was so excited to be part of their wedding day. You see I photographed Andrew’s sisters wedding a few years ago and it was so nice to see the family again. As with all of my couples, I love sharing their love story and their wedding planning journey on my blog. I love sharing their advice to my upcoming brides and grooms. So here is Andrew and Kristen’s real life wedding story as told by Kristen. Enjoy!

How did you meet?
We met initially at Schoolies through mutual friends. We were both instantly attracted to each other and want to see and get to know more about each other. Life, however, got in the way and we never saw each other until four years later at another mutual friends 21st birthday party. From that night onwards we were inseparable.

Why did you choose this date? Any special reason?
We wanted a Spring wedding
Where did you have your wedding?
We got married in St Stephen’s Cathedral and our reception was at The Landing at Dockside, Kangaroo Point
Was there any special touches, vows, traditions or tributes that you included into your ceremony?
We decided to light a candle for each one our grandparents who has passed, so we could include them in the ceremony. We also decided to say our vows off by heart, to show that we were the ministers of our own wedding.
If you could pick one special moment from the day to remember what would it be?
Getting our photos taken around Kangaroo point. This was a moment in the day, where Andrew and I had the most intimate time together. With all the commotion of the day, there is no other time that you get to hug, kiss, hold hands and smile together, then when you are getting your photos taken in your favourite location.
