Sammy | Boudoir | Ipswich | 12th September 2011
Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful Sammy the winner of our Miss Boudoir 2011 competition!! The idea of the boudoir competition was to showcase that boudoir isn’t just about being photographed in beautiful lingerie, but it can also be a chance to twist it, create a concept and take some gorgeous glamourous shots in a variety of locations. The theme for yesterday’s session was Black Swan. I really wanted to take the dark, grunge kind of feel and juxta position Sam against an eerily beautiful location with some fabulous light!
To create the beautiful look, we had a few people lend a hand. Kara from Ella Baché Ipswich created the beautiful Black Swan inspired make up and my lovely mum created the beautiful messy ballerina bun to complete the look. I created the skirt that Sammy was wearing and teamed with a beautiful corset created the full look. The lovely Fay from Millinery Mode leant me some gorgeous black feathered fascinators which just added that zing to Sam’s outfit.
After hair and make up we headed out to my selected location by the river (after the floods) where lots of trees where fallen down and the afternoon sunlight was just divine. To top it all off we had the most amazing sunset and Sam was even brave enough to put her feet in the water. We had an amazing shoot and Sammy was awesome especially channelling some ballerina poses for me. It was awesome to be able to do a completely creative shoot and practice some different techniques. I am really looking forward to the next Miss Boudoir session!!
Here is just a sample of some of the shots that we took yesterday and I am sure I will have another post sometime soon to share with you all!
