Today’s Motivation Monday is all about Attitude. As a creative, I know that attitude is key to how you feel about your work, your business and the effect it has on the results you produce. Over the last two week’s I’ve had a roller coaster of a time with crazy weather, things breaking down and sickness and I must admit, I’ve had a crappy attitude. I’ve been feeling a bit sorry for myself and just flat in general. I think as creatives we all go through this, but at times you really need to pull your self out of it, give yourself a metaphorical slap in the face and practice gratitude. Over the weekend I photographed a beautiful wedding and re-adjusted my attitude and now I am feeling positive, have renewed my energy and am ready to tackle the week ahead. I am super excited about all the things I have coming up before I head overseas in March for a solo adventure.
So I thought I was fitting that I posted today about attitude.
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money,
than circumstances, than failures, than successes,
than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.
It will make or break a company… a church… a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding
the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past…
we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have,
and that is our attitude…
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes.
