Paul & Emily | Wedding | Springfield Lakes | 20th September 2014
Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of Paul and Emily. Paul and Emily’s love story is a unique one. They met as kids, became friends, lost contact and with the invention of Facebook, reconnected and fell in love. They had been planning their wedding from afar and after many months and lots of hard work, a beautiful day was had.
We started the day with the boys at Paul’s parents place. The boys were all cool calm and collected and Paul looked very spiffy in his 3 piece suit. I just love the little leggo cufflinks that he had on his jacket. We were lucky enough to dodge the shower of rain that came over as photos were happening and before we knew it, it was time to visit the girls. The girls were getting ready at the beautiful Stamford Plaza where there was a lot more happening. Emily was looking beautiful in her gorgeous gown and veil and all of her little flower girls were just too cute! After some gorgeous photos, we were off to Springfield Lakes for the ceremony.
A gorgeous ceremony was had while over looking the Lake, the celebrant Barry officiated a beautiful heartfelt ceremony where Paul and Emily became husband and wife. A new little ceremony that I had not witnessed yet as a wedding photographer was the love lock ceremony. Both Emily and Paul had a little love heart lock on a chain that they locked and then threw their keys into the lake. This symbolised the love and commitment that they made to each other at that moment would never be broken or unlocked. Such a beautiful sentiment. After some beautiful personalised vows, Barry pronounced them husband and wife.
Then it was time for some family photographs before we headed off around the Lake for some beautiful bridal portraits. The photos were lots of fun and the littlies were such troopers and gave us some fun photographs. After the sun had set, it was time to head up to the Springfield Lakes Hotel for the reception to celebrate with the newlyweds. Emily was incredibly thoughtful by providing a kids table that I was envy of with games, activities and kid specific food. I think the kids throughly enjoyed the reception (and the dance floor). And speaking of dancing, Emily and Paul had a beautiful, fun choreographed first dance that was just awesome to watch. After some fun dancing, it was time for the newlyweds to depart through a sparkler run and start their life together as husband and wife.
Thank you Paul and Emily for inviting me to photograph your wedding day. It was my absolute privilege and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos!! I hope you are enjoying your honeymoon!
