Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of being invited to photograph the beautiful wedding of Brett and Madeleine. It was such a beautiful day. The sun was shinning, there were no clouds in the sky and love was in the air! We started the day with the boys, where Brett was getting ready at their home. He was cool, calm and collected and excited to see his beautiful bride. Weddings are one of those days that always include so many beautiful traditions and interesting little stories. Brett was lucky enough to wear a family heirloom on his wedding day – beautiful gold diamond cuffs that I believe have been passed down through his family. It was a very special touch to his wedding attire! The boys were looking very dapper in their navy Ben Sherman suits and Scott was a great groomsmen keeping Brett nice and calm.
After we finished with the boys, we headed off to Tattersalls Club in the Brisbane CBD where Madeleine was getting ready and the ceremony and reception was taking place. Even though the girls were running a little late, Madeleine was very relaxed and looked absolutely stunning in her gorgeous lace Bridal Emporium gown. Her beautiful gown was complimented by gorgeous jewellery she borrowed from her Mum and a stunning white and red bouquet from Petals on the Plaza. Bronwyn, Madeleine’s sister and bridesmaid looked absolutely beautiful in her gorgeous red gown and also helped to keen Madeleine nice and calm before the ceremony.
The beautiful ceremony was conducted by the lovely Samantha Townend on the North Balcony at Tattersalls. Just a small group of close family and friends witnessed the beautiful personal vows Brett and Madeleine pledged to each other as they became husband and wife. With the exchanging of vows and rings, they sealed their union with a kiss and were pronounced husband and wife. I love how Brett gave Madeleine a sneaky dip kiss as he kissed his wife for the first time! After the signing of the register, a group photograph and some family photos, it was off for our bridal party portraits.
We started our bridal party portraits off at Tattersalls where we used the Chandelier Room and its balcony and a few spots in and around the club before we headed down to Riverside for some portraits with the Storey Bridge. Then we walked up to the beautiful Brisbane Botanical Gardens where we had the most gorgeous sunlight just before sunset. Then we headed back to Tattersalls to celebrate the newlyweds!
Thank you so much Brett and Madeleine for inviting us to be part of your special day! We had such a wonderful day and you guys were so great in front of the camera. And a big shout out to Rick who was my second shooter for the day! Thanks! Here is a little sneaky peek of a few of the images from the day!
How gorgeous are their wedding bands from Xennox Diamonds and the beautiful cufflinks that are family heirlooms?
