Over the weekend I had the absolute pleasure of heading out to Toogoolawah to photograph the beautiful wedding of Matt & Marise. Even though it was rather warm and a little bit smoky, the breeze kept the heat at bay and we couldn’t of asked for a better day.. especially as the weekend before there was bush fires on the property.
We started off the day with the boys capturing Matt chilling with the guys at the house in between running around doing all the last minute details on the farm. He wanted to make sure that everything was perfect for Marise so she didn’t have to worry. Even though it is rather dry at the moment, the farm still looked glorious. Marise did an amazing job hand painting (yes, you read correctly.. hand painting) all of the beautiful signs directing guests where to go.
After some photos with the boys, it was off to see the girls where they were getting ready near Somerset Dam. The house was beautiful and had magnificent views of the lake. The lovely ladies from Grace & Style and Carly Stone were taking wonderful care of Marise and her gorgeous bridesmaids (and sisters) and they all looked gorgeous!!
How cute are Marise’s shoes??! And can you believe that she hand made all of the gorgeous flowers… Aren’t they just divine and matched perfectly with Marise’s gorgeous champagne blush gown and the beautiful green gowns.
After some gorgeous photographs with the girls, we headed back to the farm to get ready for the ceremony. The ceremony is an incredibly special location over looking the farm and the valley below and six years ago, Matt’s brother married his wife Jacinta starting a family tradition. It is such a beautiful location to become husband and wife.
A coach brought many guests out to the farm and the view of the marquee from the ceremony location.
The lovely Jo-Ellen Moynihan created a beautiful heartfelt personal ceremony for Matt and Marise where they became husband and wife. We heard about their journey as a couple before they spoke beautiful vows to one another and exchanged rings.
Then their union was sealed with a kiss!
Then after a group photo and some gorgeous family photos we drove around the beautiful farm to capture some gorgeous bridal party portraits as the sun set.
Before long the sun had set and it was time to head back to the marquee to party the night away with their guests. And that they did! After a gorgeous roast meal, cutting of the gorgeous cake (make by Marise’s beautiful friend), warm, heartfelt, funny speeches it was time for the first dance!
And finally just before we finished for the night we headed outside to capture a gorgeous photograph of Matt and Marise under the milky way… “You are my sun, my moon and all the stars.”
Thank you both for asking me to be part of your wedding day. It was an incredible privilege to be part of your wedding day. I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos when you get back.
And a massive thanks to Jess for being an awesome second shooter and to Tyronne from Forever Features for being an awesome videographer to work with. Enjoy!
