Toowong Rowing Club Wedding | A Real Life Story….

Cara & Charlie | A Real Life Wedding | Toowong Rowing Club | 9th April 2011

Back in April, I was lucky enough to photograph the lovely Cara and Charlie’s wedding at the Toowong Rowing Club. It was such a beautiful day and I felt more like one of the guests rather than the wedding photographer. Cara and Charlie just had their immediate family in their bridal party which was great. They were a bunch of fun to photograph and I really enjoyed myself.

Here is their real life wedding story…

How did you meet and how long have you known eachother?

We met at a party prior to going to uni, but really got to know each other in our first year of uni in 2011. We have known each other for 10 years.

How did he propose?

Upon reflection I realise that I ruined 2 potential proposal moments in the one evening.  But even after my unfortunate behaviour he proceeded to propose.  He told me he had been out and got me a surprise, at which point he presented me with my beautiful engagement ring.  I started laughing and squealing hysterically – I still don’t remember if he asked a question or if I actually answered, but we are married I think we were on the same page 🙂

How did you find your overall experience with the above vendors?

Cara: We had a really good experience with all the vendors that we chose. I guess that is why we chose them. I was not a bride with a book of plans, which probably made it difficult, but even given the lack of detail I gave them, the picture in my head is what we got.

Do you have any advice for other brides?

Cara: Take your time. Whilst planning months in advance has it’s advantages (getting the location you want etc.) there is no need to rush into decisions – everything will work out. There is always another makeup artist/car company. So chill and enjoy it – it’s meant to be the best time of your life, don’t let it be a stress.

What made your wedding day so memorable?

Cara: The laid back feel. It was like a big happy party.

What was the weather and location like on the day?

Cara: Perfect. The weather had looked like it was going to be rainy and ruin out riverside wedding, but the sun was shining all afternoon. It was magical getting married by the river underneath a beautiful tree

If there was one thing that you would change from the day, what would it be and why?

Cara: There is one thing I would choose – I would choose not to be sick!
Thank you Cara and Charlie for allowing me to be a part of your day. I had a ball and it was so much fun photographing your beautiful day. It is clients like you that make my job so much fun!
