Toowong Rowing Club Wedding Photography | Steve & Rae

Steve & Rae | Wedding | Toowong Rowing Club | 20th April 2015

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing my first ever Monday wedding! The beautiful Steve and Rae decided to tie the knot at the Toowong Rowing Club with 35 of their nearest and dearest. The weather was a little dreary, with rainy showers all day. But it didn’t put a damper on the day. We started the day off at the boys – Steve & Steve were cool calm and relaxed and made our job incredibly easy. I was pretty excited that Rae & Steve had beautiful red roses growing in the front of the house, as the colour matched Steve’s shirt perfectly and I though it was the perfect location for a gorgeous ring shot. The boys were awesome, even getting outside in the spitting rain for some photos.

Then it was just around the corner to photograph the girls. Karla from Blissful Makeup created a stunning look for the gorgeous Rae. She had the most beautiful cute little dress which suited her perfectly and her custom designed shoes from Shoes of Prey, gave me major shoe envy!! Rae’s something old, new, borrowed and blue could be summed up in the beautiful custom made & designed sapphire ring Steve gave to her for the wedding day. It was absolutely gorgeous. The girls were so much fun, and I can see where Rae gets her fun nature from – her Mum!

Then it was off to the Toowong Rowing Club for the ceremony. It was still very rainy, so instead of holding the ceremony under the big beautiful tree, it was moved to the balcony of the club. It didn’t matter, as the river made for a very beautiful scene behind Rae & Steve as they became husband and wife. Helen Hally was the celebrant who officiated the ceremony and with special touches, a beautiful hand fasting and a rose for each mother to show how much they mean to them, they were officially husband and wife! After a kiss, signing of the register and some family photographs we were off around the grounds for some bridal party portraits. Rae & Steve were quite happy to get out in the rain (luckily it was only spitting) and their attendants – Steve and Lou were great sports as well. After some rainy sparkler photos, it was back to the club for the reception where Rae & Steve celebrated into the night.

Thank you both so much for asking me to photograph your wedding day and for being such good sports despite the weather. It was so much fun capturing some beautiful romantic rainy day portraits for you both. Enjoy your honeymoon and I can’t wait to show you the rest when you get back!
