Mat & Renee | Wedding | Tranquil Park | 25th October 2014
On Saturday I had the pleasure of heading up to beautiful Maleny to photograph the wedding of Mat & Renee. The drive up to Maleny was well worth it, as it was such a gorgeous day! The sky was clear and the view of the Glasshouse Mountains from Tranquil Park was just stunning. We started the day off with the boys at the Little Red Cottage which suited their theme incredibly well. The boys were looking super dashing with their custom made silk suits from Made for the Mob. The boys were lots of fun to photograph and I just love the cigar shots were able to get as well. The boys (and Renee) also love their cars so they featured quite a lot throughout the day.
After we had finished with the boys, it was off to Tranquil Park to photograph the girls getting ready. There was a lot more going on at the girls and Renee had so many beautiful details for us to photograph. One of the most special things that I was able to photograph was the piece of lace that Renee had from her Nan’s (who she is incredibly close with) wedding dress. She wrapped a piece of it around her wrist and I was able to use it to photograph some gorgeous details shots as well. Another gorgeous little feature was the photograph of her grandparents and her original engagement “ring” that Mat proposed with. (The ring is a piece of a car part that symbolised their passion for their cars and racing). Renee looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful gown and was excited to be marrying Mat.
It was then time for us to head up to the Garden Deck to get ready for the ceremony. Cassandra Neilson was the Celebrant of the day and created a beautiful ceremony that represented the love that Renee and Mat shared. One of my favourite parts of the ceremony was when all of the guests raised their right hand and vowed to enjoy the day and support Renee and Mat in their marriage. It was a beautiful sentiment. With the stunning view overlooking the valley, some beautiful heartfelt vows and the exchanging of rings, Mat and Renee were married. It was then time for some family photographs and some bridal party portraits to celebrate the day.
As Renee and Mat were bought together by their love of cars and racing is a big part of their lives, they wanted to incorporate their cars into the location photographs. So our first stop was up at the lookout where all of their close friends drove up their cars and we created a photo of all the cars and their friends. The shot reminded me of a Fast and Furious type meet up and I thought it was a lovely sentiment to want to include all of their close friends in their bridal portraits. Then it was off to a lane way where we had some absolutely gorgeous sunlight for some beautiful portraits of the happy couple and their cars.
Then as the sun set, it was back up to Tranquil Park where Kasey from Fashionable Society Events created an 1920’s glitz and glamour themed reception for Renee and Mat to celebrate their union with their family and friends. A big thank you to Kasey for helping the day run so smoothly, a big thank you to Renee and Mat for asking me to photograph your special day and for Kylie keeping me company as my second shooter. Enjoy your sneak peek and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos!!
