Today I wanted to share some ideas on where to do your engagement session. There are so many possiblities, but it is always nice to include location that has a little bit more meaning to you. Love being outdoors, let’s shoot outdoors. Love hanging out in coffee shops, let’s capture you at your fave hang out. Love the city, let’s capture the skyline. Here are some of my top engagement session location ideas.
At the place he proposed: After all, what better way to capture an engagement than the place it all started! Like this gorgeous photo above of Matt & Marise at sunset on the property where he proposed!
Doing your favourite activity: You both enjoy going for picnic or out on a bush walk. What better way to capture your personality then include something that you love to do together.
Images with your pet: What better way to capture your new family than by including a beloved shared pet in your session? Love taking your puppy for a walk, let’s include him!
Your favourite skyline: Your city is beautiful at any time of the year, and the skyline shares where you live now, a beautiful location that might change with time.
A downtown urban session: Fun and funky, pictures in alleyways or in otherwise undiscovered locations of your local area make for a more intimate view of the city.
A romantic beach: In the late afternoon sunset where the sea meets an endless sky for a feeling of forever.
Paddock with Afternoon Golden Sunlight: An open field, golden sunlight, a couple in love.
Seasonal: Catch the nuances of the seasons, including everything from a winter wonderland, to leaves of autumn, to flowers in spring, to the lush, green summers in nearby beautiful fields and forests. Or in this case Jacaranda season, the carnival of flowers in Toowoomba or the gorgeous spring blooms at the botanical garden.
Gardens or Park: If you love being in nature, love greenery, then the local park is the perfect place for you. Think City Botanic Gardens, Mt Cootha, Japanese Gardens in Ipswich or any local garden or park.
Personal Items: You always have the option to include something personal whether that be an object or something you wear like a football jersey. What is something you love to do together?
