Natalie & Wade | E-Shoot & Wedding | Brisbane | 25th February 2013
Well! What a fantastic response we’ve had for our “Win a NBP Ultimate Wedding Experience!” We had some truly beautiful proposal stories and I wish I would of been to photograph everyone!! But unfortunately there could only be one winner. When we were going through the proposal stories, there was one that just stood out. It was a beautifully sweet proposal that made my heart sing. Through adversity, Natalie’s beautiful boyfriend Wade proposed and showed her that no matter what, he will always love her.
Here is her proposal story.
“My proposal was unexpected but beautifully well timed and very sweet. I was like any girl in love, dreaming of the day my boyfriend, Wade, would ask me to be his ‘Mrs’. It was in November of last year that my days of excited anticipation were forever changed, and my future became uncertain. I had suffered a spinal stroke and immediately lost all feeling from the neck down. I was airlifted to a bigger hospital with better facilities, Wade beside me, concern written all over his face. It was in those first gruelling weeks that Wade climbed up beside me one night, with the hospital lights dimmed and drew me close as we shared some quiet moments together. At this time, I had limited feeling in my fingers so as Wade took my left hand in his, he began asking me what I was able to feel on each finger. Feeling something slide onto my ring finger, I realised that something was a ring! Wade got down on one knee and began to tell me of his love for me and how much he wanted me to be his forever. It was no surprise that my ‘YES’ came fast and strong. Thankfully, I have made amazing progress since then and I continue to fight to walk again. Through it all Wade has been a comfort, a protector and unending support. Our proposal may sound simple to some, but I will always remember the tender way he brushed my teeth and learnt how to plait my hair when I was unable to do it for myself and to me Wade has already shown me that as his wife, I will always be safe.”
We are so excited to be able to photograph a special engagement session for Natalie and Wade. With the help of Emma from House of LouLou & Co, Kara Lehmann from Ella Baché Ipswich and Beth from Bethany Inez Bridal Styling, we will be creating a beautiful styled engagement shoot to showcase their beautiful love. And of course capture some beautiful memories for Natalie & Wade on their wedding day. Their date has not been set yet, as Natalie wants to be able to walk down the isle. I know that when she does, it is going to be such a beautiful magical day celebrating a true love story.
