Today I wanted to share this stunning sunset silhouette from Justin and Taylor’s beautiful wedding day. Their wedding day was one of the windiest days in 2017, but it didn’t phase them or me. As a matter of fact, we were able to find pockets of shelter from the roaring westilies and when we couldn’t we made sure to use the wind to our advantage.
This gorgeous sunset shot was photographed at Woodlands of Marburg where Justin and Taylor had their bridal party portraits. We were just about finished capturing their portraits when I saw this magical sunset appear. For one last shot I asked them to stand in front of the sunset and let the veil go. The wind did the rest. And doesn’t the beautiful veil just make this shot? It almost looks like Taylor is wearing a magical pair of wings.
As a wedding photographer with over 12 years experience, I have pretty much photographed in all kinds of weather. My biggest piece of advice to all my couples about the weather is to prepare for the worst and if it is crazy, embrace the crazy weather. You never know what magic will result in using the weather to your advantage.
