On Sunday I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the lovely Chesrae and Katie on their wedding day. It was the most beautiful day, a little warm but other than that the weather was perfect. We started off the day with the boys at Kangaroo Point. Luckily Mel (my second shooter) was on hand to hustle the boys into getting ready and tie their ties! After tying 8 ties, I think Mel has perfected the double windsor! Chesrae was so excited to be marrying the love of his life. He was full of energy and loved working it for the camera. Once all the boys were dressed, we headed downstairs to the river for some groomsmen shots before heading over to the girls.
The girls were getting ready at Katie’s family home. The girls were also very excited to be part of Chesrae and Katie’s day and they all looked gorgeous in their pink gowns. Luckily Mum and Katie’s Aunty were on hand to make some last minute sewing adjustments! And Katie looked absolutely stunning in her Luv Bridal gown and her Mum’s gorgeous veil. I know it was super special that Katie wore her Mum’s veil. Before we knew it, it was time to head off to the church for the ceremony.
The ceremony was held at the beautiful Albert Street Uniting Church. The lovely Pastor Francis conducted the beautiful ceremony. Chesrae and Katie incorporated two of their favourite hymns into the ceremony which were sung so beautifully by everyone present. Pastor Francis had the most beautiful words to say about marriage and the commitment they were making and he even included a soccer analogy into the ceremony to embrace Chesrae’s love of soccer. Then it was time to seal their union with a kiss, but Pastor Francis knew how much Chesrae wanted to kiss his new bride so he got them all ready and announced that he could kiss his bride after the signing of the register! After their kiss, I absolutely loved watching them walk out of the ceremony. They were both so excited! We headed around the side of the church out of the bright hot sun for some group and family photos before heading off for the bridal party portraits.
We started out across the road at City Hall for some bridal party photographs and we headed inside on those beautiful marble stairs for some couple shots with Katie & Chesrae. Then it was off to Wynnum Jetty for some more photos before the reception. Even though it was a large bridal party, Mel and I were super impressed with how awesome everyone was. They listened, they laughed and they made it fun for everyone. Before we knew it, we were off to the Shangri-La at Wynnum for the reception.
Thank you both for such an awesome day! It was so heartwarming to see how much love you have for each other. And a massive thank you to my biggest bridal party of the year for being totally awesome. And a big shout out to Mel who made family photos a breeze and for being an awesome second shooter. That wraps up the 2016 wedding season! Its been an amazing year and I can’t wait to capture some more beautiful weddings in 2017!
